Idaho is one of the most reliably Republican states in the nation, with both Senate seats, both House seats, and the governorship held by Republicans. The state legislature maintains strong Republican supermajorities. Senator Mike Crapo serves as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, one of the most powerful positions in the Senate. Idaho’s Republican leadership has focused on fiscal conservatism, energy development, public lands management, and limited government.
